When it rains, it pours - Part One

tanya dakin

I'm not sure if it's the things that i do to set things in motion all at once but it always seems to happen all at once.

I had 6 awesome shoots in one week.
1st shoot
Was with a threesome, 2 Photographers and one MUA/Video they call themselves 425 productions, is Marcos Rivera, Emily Claire and Matthew Terhune. they have a blog called Sexy Photo Trip. there will be more video to come

2nd was in Mt Airy PA, in a co workers old dilapidated carriage house.
Laura Kicey and Michael Alan Goldberg shot some awesome images from this location.

This is the 2nd time i have shot with this Fantastic Photo couple, they both have diff styles yet feed off of each others creativity, while still displaying the ultimate respect for each others creative process.

3rd shoot, In the middle of the week, last min plans.
I get an email from Hassan Kinley whom also is one of the creative directors/Photographers of Karin+Raoul Sexy online Zine. I have been wanting to shoot with Hassan for a few years. we talked a year ago about shooting, but he was so particular about the specs of the shoot that i got intimidated and dropped the ball on the communications. I guess it wasn't my time yet.
It was a miserable rainy night, in a hotel room. after a little chat about our passions/creative directions it took off like a lit fire cracker! 1st concept/look BAM right out the box killer!

Hassan was staying in King Of Prussia, Which is home of the 2nd largest shopping mall in America, He asked me to think about our shoot and the direction or story it would tell. Nothing aside from substance and materialistic wealth could disturb what i would pull for the wardrobe pieces, the images had to be sexy, Hassans Signature. and had to show the theme. I'm grateful to have finally gotten my time with Him, more so respect him allowing me the freedom to collaborate with him, and create a story that would be featured on karinandraoul.com

Hassan Kinley

Not only was that story featured but he also included some of my Self ports and a few fun questions that let me tell my story for what i do as well.

2 of which are in the beginning of this post, and to what i consider my best Self Ports to date.

It's such a big deal to me because i know my peers are not only active on the site but contributors as well, and i sincerely respect them as much as i actually like them as people.
To be included among them feels like really great acceptance. I don't usually go looking for acceptance but i don't shy away from it either.

The following Saturday I had a shoot # 4 scheduled for some time, and the main reason to visit and stay in NY was to get a chance to work with Jim Herrington.
Images are still being worked on but here is the 1st

Jim Herrington

Jim Only shoots film, This shoot was strictly all Leica shot.
Jim was gracious enough to model for me as well, and again i think these are some of my best portraits to date. I shot a quick Story series and a few quick portraits.

More to come............................

Sometimes being a little Ghetto is necessary.

Michael Alan Goldberg

To get my point across with feeling, With earthiness, to feel the grit of my words, to know the depth of my emotion, to taste the sourness of my defeat.
